After Europe, STOMMPY® modular Impact Safety Bollard conquers America
In the old days, inventors were eccentric, eclectic, visionary characters; their knowledge ranged from the arts to the sciences, and often the fruit of their minds was a concentrate of both. But even today's inventors, come to think of it, are not so different: they have engineering degrees and better-equipped laboratories, but the genius and creative spark that animates them are the same.
What has changed over time, however, is the imagery revolving around inventions. While it is true that we grew up thinking about fantastic and highly complicated machines and tools invented to accomplish mythical feats or perform actions on the edge of the impossible, it is equally true that today the most ingenious inventions are those that solve common problems in the simplest way possible.
STOMMPY has made this vision the beacon that guides the creation of all of its products and over time has led the company to receive many important awards.
The latest of these concerns one of STOMMPY's signature products: the Modular Impact Safety Bollard.
In fact, on October 4, 2018, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the administrative body in charge of issuing patents and trademarks filed in the United States of America, made official the recognition of the Modular Impact Safety Bollard patent for the U.S. market .
The patent for this product had already been granted at the European and international level, as well as filed in Australia and New Zealand, but obtaining it in the United States as well is a milestone of absolute importance for STOMMPY.
The recognition of the patent, the application process for which began in May 2017, in addition to protecting the company and its customers against potential imitations, in fact sanctions that the Modular Impact Safety Bollard is the result of an innovative idea, a unique product of its kind, since it is able to offer performance that is vastly superior to the standard of its competitors and an application versatility that has not been available on the market until now. Features that have certainly not gone unnoticed by STOMMPY's U.S. market, in which the company after the recognition of the patent has seen its sales volumes double.
Observed in detail in its peculiar characteristics, the Modular Impact Safety Bollard fully respects both the principle of simplification of forms and functions and the construction technologies that have made STOMMPY the technological leader in the sector as well as the only manufacturer in the world with resistance certification of its products issued by an ACCREDIA-certified body.
We are talking about the FIXA BLOCK SYSTEM® floor anchoring system, which is also internationally patented and holds the record for resistance to the PULL-OUT test, and Tecklene® the technopolymer developed by STOMMPY that reacts to impacts with an elastic-plastic behavior that progressively absorbs and dampens their energy.
Not surprisingly, Tecklene®, which is exceptionally durable, certified nontoxic and suitable for food and pharmaceutical environments, odorless, physiologically harmless, and free of toxic gas production in case of fire, is the material used for all STOMMPY® products.
Starting from an intuition of the company's management, always far-sighted and attentive to grasping and interpreting in advance the needs of an ever-evolving market, the modern inventors from whose minds the Modular Shockproof Pole was then concretely developed are the heads of the company's Research and Development departments, Eng. Desiderioscioli; Technical, Eng. Monzani; Production, Mr. Spadoni; and Installation, Mr. Voicu.
They are the ones who made its implementation and international success possible.
It is from the words of Marco Chiarini, President of STOMMPY Srl, and Eng. Desiderioscioli, interviewed on the occasion of the patent recognition, that the importance of this milestone for the company and the complexity of the path that led it to success emerge:
"When one speaks of the USPTO, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, there is always a bit of reverential awe among insiders; from this prestigious body, in fact, the patent files of some of the most important inventions of our time have passed through. We, with our Modular Impact Safety Bollard, certainly had no pretensions to go down in history, but we applied for the U.S. patent proud of the work we had done and aware of the product's enormous potential for use, and we were right.
Now for STOMMPY, the opened the doors to a market, that of the United States, which we are sure will be able to give us great satisfaction over time and interesting new insights to constantly improve our work."
