Goldoni keeps pedestrians safe with STOMMPY

Goldoni Spa, a historic manufacturer of specialized vineyard and orchard tractors, power tillers and motor cultivators, part of ARBOS GROUP S.p.A. since 2016, chooses STOMMPY Srl to increase the safety of its Migliorina di Carpi plant.

The intervention is part of a broader plan to renovate the headquarters, carried out with the aim of strengthening the Company's image and relaunching it, which is strongly linked to the territory.

Luca Meschiari HSE & Maintenance of Goldoni Spa states "The latest risk assessment showed that one of the most critical areas was the test track of the vehicles. We therefore took action to find an answer to the problem and, in this regard, we turned to STOMMPY Srl as an expert in the field who, following the inspection, proposed the most suitable solution." and continues "Speed of installation, high visibility and modularity: these are the pluses of ^STOMMPY® systems that won us over."

Marco Chiarini, General Manager of STOMMPY Srl - a technology leader in the production of safety bumper devices for industrial use - says, "As also indicated within our Guideline, to drastically reduce the possibility of accidents, adequate prevention is essential, ensured, first and foremost, by the visibility of the measures taken. In this sense, we presented a customized system to secure the perimeter sidewalk of the test center, made with a pedestrian handrail of bright yellow color alternating with red, to which we applied reflective strips in the sections next to the evacuation doors. In addition, to signal the presence of ^STOMMPY® devices even more clearly, we placed, on the uprights of the outermost areas of the application, LED lights powered by photovoltaic cells, which are activated with a twilight switch."

For its manufacturing plant, in the past Goldoni manufactured steel bumpers in-house. However, these required extensive maintenance work, bent easily, and were prone to rust, thus making repainting and complete replacement essential in case of impacts.

^STOMMPY® solutions consisting of a special technical polymer called ^Tecklene®, are, in contrast, at "zero routine maintenance".

It is a chemical compound that can provide progressive and controlled elastoplastic deformation, capable of absorbing large impact energies without cracking or shattering. Moreover, in the event that the devices become damaged, it is sufficient to change only the component involved, as they are made from multiple linear elements.
