PEDESTRIAN DEMARCATION AND IMPACT PROTECTION ARE VERY DIFFERENT CONCEPTS, BUT OFTEN MISTAKENLY LUMPED INTO ONE AMBIVALENT PRODUCT.

Revolutions, it is known, always have an initial spark from which they take life, a starting point destined to be remembered as the origin of everything. Sometimes it is a fact, a triggering event; other times it is a thought that spreads through the environment.
Almost always, however, the basis of a revolution is the most powerful factor of all: an idea.

Ideas have the power to change things, to overcome the resistance of habit, to propose a new way of looking at oneself: a new vision.

The idea that gave rise to STOMMPY's new vision regarding the concept of security brings with it the courage to innovate that is the company's own: to separate the concept of "shockproofing" from the concept of "delimitation" in order to give birth to increasingly specific and safe products, each dedicated to a precise function and designed for a specific market need, so as to propose to each customer an optimal protection solution depending on the criticalities present in his establishment.

True safety, in fact, is pursued by installing systems of suitable products chosen on a scientific basis for the needs of the specific work environment; protection systems that are all the more effective the more accurate the analysis of the area to be protected.

If until now, therefore, the concepts of "shockproofing" and "demarcation" have gone merrily hand in hand - due to a distorted market view of the idea of security and the widespread tendency to save costs, which is also guilty of the current regulatory vacuum - now the time is ripe for a change of mentality and the adoption of a new system: the STOMMPY System.

The principle guiding this new System is to value the real concepts of doing security and to close with the past, replacing one after another the old generation products.

The new STOMMPY DELIMITATOR is the first in the series, and is the result of the same manufacturing excellence that distinguishes all of the company's products.

Highly versatile, thanks to its modularity in height and length, it also allows for seamless linear or 90-degree corner perimeters, thanks to a purpose-built multi-way modular joint.

For outdoor installations, in addition, in order to increase their visibility in dimly lit environments, LED flashing lights are also available, operating with autonomous self-powered battery with photovoltaic panel inserted directly into the light and installable directly on the handrail support posts.

With the new delimiter, STOMMPY is the first to introduce a product to the market that complies with Law 81/2008 on safety at work, guaranteeing its use in all conditions of application, both on the ground floor and on raised floors, by equipping the delimiter itself with a special accessory called a "footstop."

In particular, the most widely used version of the STOMMPY Delimiter with a height of 110cm from the floor complies with the regulations:

• EN 1991-1-1 - Loads imposed on permanent parapets in buildings;
• BS 6180:2011 - Code of practice for temporary and permanent barriers in buildings;
• UNI EN ISO 14122-3 - Permanent means of access to machinery.

In the design of this new and innovative solution, special attention was also paid to the design, which is more attractive in its geometric and ergonomic forms, and to the product's remote visibility, a key element of prevention in safety, thanks to a more balanced and effective alternation of the colors yellow and red or, upon request, yellow and black.

Extreme ease of installation and safety features in terms of food contact, UV resistance and water tightness complement the design standard characteristic of STOMMPY's philosophy.

In accordance with the indications that the new UNI standard on impact protection in the industrial field will require to be adopted, in the event that the delimiter is to be installed in environments traversed by goods transport vehicles, the same will have to be associated with an impact guardrail, specially calculated to resist the impact energy of the vehicle in circulation, which will make it possible to totally eliminate the risk of deformation or collapse of the delimiter itself towards the pedestrian path, with the dramatic consequences that can result for the pedestrian in transit, a risk that is currently not resolved by the products on the market.

As is customary for STOMMPY, the new Pedestrian Handrail is also born from cutting-edge technologies and already anticipates what the new UNI standard will demand from the coming 2020, embracing more fully the new criteria of safety at work and ensuring that its customers are positioned at the highest level in risk assessment, which is mandatory for every contractor.
