The first Guide for the Selection and Application of Bumper Devices.

In the industrial sphere, passive safety devices and systems aim to decrease the negative consequences of an accident once it has occurred. In particular, they have the task of absorbing and dissipating the kinetic energy possessed by the handling medium, so that it does not impact-or in the worst case, impacts at a lower speed-against something or someone. The management of the 'kinetic energy possessed by the handling means and its load at the moment of impact is, therefore, the typical field of application of passive safety devices and the main object of the research devoted to it.

The Research & Development Department of STOMMPY Ltd. has created the DSP Guideline, the first Guide for the selection and application of Dangerous Safety Devices (DSPs) with the aim of increasing passive safety in the company and reducing the huge costs resulting from workplace accidents and infrastructure damage.

The objective is to provide the technical notions and procedure necessary for the most appropriate choice of Passive Safety Devices Bumpers, as a useful working tool for all those involved in the assessment of business risks, whether they are aimed at the preservation of the company's infrastructure, plant and machinery, or at the accident prevention events of personnel, especially those caused by the means of goods handling.

The DSP Guideline is the fruit of knowledge gained in the construction and application of safety bumper systems for industry, a sector in which STOMMPY Srl has become a technological leader in the world and an undisputed point of reference, both in strength and cost-effectiveness values.

The experience has been gained in more than 17 years of continuous product research and development, supplemented by severe destructive crash-testing, carried out in the AISICO test center, and aimed at understanding the dynamics of impact and energy management, in addition to the thousands of applications in the reality of daily use, in the most diverse product sectors.
